The best thing about a BIG goal is that you can break it up into smaller, more manageable goals.


A wish is nothing but a vague statement of intent. It has no motivating power to get you up off your butt and force you to take action.


However, a goal with a deadline gives you focus. It allows you to zero in on what you want with pinpoint precision.


No weight loss or fitness goal was ever achieved without focus. Hoping to lose weight doesn't make your clothes fit any better, but setting weekly goals that keep you accountable for your actions does.


You can hope and wish all you'd like, but only getting up and making things happen will get the results you're after.

Did you know that your body type can affect your weight loss - or even weight gain - programs?


I know of a two childhood friends who both bought a bullworker when they were teenagers. They both spend the same amount of time exercising with it. However, one build muscles quickly while the other one experienced almost no improvement!

Desired by most males, mesomorphs are strong and have an athletic build. They can develop and build muscle mass easily and can usually eat without too much fear, but are still prone to weight gain.


Thus, once you realize what body type you're given by the Higher Power, you're in a better position to set realistic goals.


It's time to look into your mirror and know what body type you have and realize that you can't change it. There's really no point struggling with what you can't change just like no amount of jumping can change your height. Rather, just appreciate what you are.

Exercise and Weight Loss - How Do You Get Started When You're So Out Of Shape?

I'm glad you've decided to take a step in the direction of exercise and weight loss. Many people decide they want to make a change in their lives via exercise, but rarely take the next step in fulfilling their goals. Now that you know you want to start exercising to lose weight, do you know what exercises to focus on for the best results?


I'll be the first to admit, when I first started I was VERY out of shape. I was getting winded stepping up a flight of stairs. At the beginning, it was pretty frustrating to say the least. I was able to jog for hardly a lap or two before I was so out of breath I could hardly stand up straight. I kept thinking to myself, "How am I going to lose weight if I can't even exercise for more than 5 minutes at a time?" What I didn't understand due to my impatience was that I needed to concentrate on building up my stamina. You'd be surprised as to how quickly your body adapts and your endurance rises over the first few weeks.


My recommendation is to do what you can do in the beginning. If you can only run on a treadmill for 5 minutes, run on a treadmill for 5 minutes. The point is that you are actually moving and burning calories. A great exercise in the beginning is to start a walk/jogging program. When I started I was obviously only able to walk for long distances. As time went on, I decided to add in little spurts of jogging. If you keep adding in more and more jogging, soon you'll be jogging the entire way instead of walking. It's all about building up your stamina day by day. It's important that you give your body time to change, because it WILL happen.


Within a few weeks you will begin to see changes that will astound you. Then you'll be ready to implement more strategic exercises to explode your weight loss. Good Luck!

Exercises For Quick Weight Loss How to Lose a Lot of Weight in One Week

As busy as most of us are it can be difficult if not almost impossible to do anything more than go to work, eat, commute and sleep. Throw kids into the mix and it becomes almost impossible to exercise for any amount of time.


In this article I will outline quick 15 minute exercises for quick weight loss. This is how to lose a lot of weight in one week. IF you stick to it for a full week or two! Most people think they have to spend hours working out to notice a difference or lose weight. So instead they do nothing at all. WRONG!


The key is to keep your workout short and include intense multi joint exercises so you get the most done with the least work. Here is a 15 minute exercise plan I used to lose weight in only 2 weeks. I was not able to do this till my second month of dieting because I was in such bad shape. If this is your situation find a diet and stick to a diet for a full month before adding on an exercise regimen.


1. Go for a 3-5 minute power walk or jog. This can be up stairs, up and down your driveway or down the block and back. This will get your heart rate up and warm you up


2. Do as many pushups as you can in a 3 minute period.


3. Immediately switch to as many situps as possible in a 3 minute period.


4. Do as many squats as you can in 3 minutes. No weight just up and down with your arms at your sides.


5. Jump rope for 3 minutes straight.


You can take breaks and most will have to in the beginning. Every time you do this shoot to increase your numbers. It doesn't matter if you can only do 5 pushups. Do five and next time do 5 and a half!


Remember, this will do nothing if you are eating horrible. As a matter of fact, your diet is more important than the exercise. Most of my initial weight loss was attributed to a diet I was following. BUT once I threw in the exercise it just catapulted my results.
